Centurio Quintus Sertorius Festus - Update #6

Summer is a slow time for painting figures, at least for me. With a new dog and work, summer weather slows the time for painting. However I am slowly making progress as can be seen above and below. Most of my work has been on the cloak and various small details of the figure.

The photo montage below shows the steps to this point in getting a convincing base tan cloak color as well as the movement on some of the finer details of the gladius scabbard, belts and armor. Now begins the process of creating a woven plaid pattern in the cloth.

  2. I absolutely love the work you have on display and am sure your blog will serve as inspiration for my upcoming projects. :) I have only been painting a slightly more than 2 years having started out on the hobby very late (in my late thirties) and have been painting as much as I can since. As you can see from my latest work (http://foureyed-monster.blogspot.com/2013/08/nocturna-models-freya-completed.html), I still have a lot to learn.

    1. Thank you for the kind comments. Freya is quite nice. You are showing a good understanding of highlight and shadow so keep up the good work. These things take time you know.
